HARTFORD—In an effort to fulfill its mission of “building the community through the beautiful game,” the Hartford Athletic, Connecticut’s team in the United Soccer League, has announced its Inaugural Charity Match presented by Stanley Black & Decker to be played this Saturday, Sept. 7.
In 2019, the theme is gender equality and local Hartford non-profit Girls For Technology will be the beneficiary of the fundraising efforts. Hartford Athletic will wear a special alternate kit for the match which will be auctioned to help raise funds.

- 10:00 - 11:00 AM - Charity Women's Soccer Clinic at Dillon Stadium
- 2:00 PM - Mix-and-mingle with female business leaders, engineers, athletes and more at Rally Alley located next to Thomas Hooker
- 4:00 PM - Hartford Athletic vs Loudoun United at Dillon Stadium

SILENT AUCTION
Fans will have
the chance to win game-worn Hartford Athletic jerseys from Saturday's match at
a silent auction. Net proceeds will benefit Girls for
Technology. Here's how you can win:
- Bidding begins at 2 PM in Rally Alley (behind Hooker Brewery at Colt) and continues inside Dillon Stadium when the gates open at 3pm
- This is a standard silent auction – fill in your bid with pen and paper.
- Jerseys start at $90. There is a minimum bid increment of $5.
- Silent Auction will end in the 80th minute of the match.
- Winners will be texted and must pay on site: cash, credit, or check accepted

WOMEN'S ONLY SOCCER CLINIC

& Decker and Hartford Athletic are partnering to host a Women's Charity
Soccer Clinic on September 7th benefitting Girls For Technology. The clinic, to
take place at Dillon Stadium, 250 Huyshope Ave, Hartford, CT
06106, will be an all women's clinic with special appearances and meet
& greet opportunities. The clinic,
available to girls and women aged 6+, will be lead by Hartford
Athletic Goalkeeper Coach, George Kostelis, and select Hartford Athletic
players. Campers
will also receive two (2) match tickets and a co-branded
item, courtesy of Stanley Black & Decker. All proceeds from
the clinic will directly benefit Girls For Technology. To register for

ABOUT GIRLS FOR TECHNOLOGY
Girls For
Technology (GFT) a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Hartford,
Connecticut. GFT mission is to empower the next generation of girls and young
women to explore opportunities to become tomorrow's leaders in STEM. It is with
this belief and espoused mission that we coordinate experiences and
opportunities that prepare youth and young adults for 21st century technology
and professional development skills, that will make them competitive for
degrees and careers in the tech/engineering industries and beyond.
To date, we
served over 600 youth and their families in the Hartford region. GFT ‘s goal is
to educate 2,000 girls and young women over the next five years through dynamic
and innovative computer-science workshops, such as Saturday Math & Science Academy, a full-day, twice-a-month,
hands on workshop for pre-college young women. GFT will also be launching a new
initiative in 2020, Pipeline 4.0, a
high-tech career pre-accelerator service for Connecticut’s most in-demand jobs.
