CROMWELL—This week the Travelers Championship announced that it has added a couple of huge names to this year's field as Dustin Johnson and Jason Day have committed to play in this year's tournament. Both are former No. 1-ranked players, have won major championships, and have won a combined total of 32 PGA Tour events.
Johnson, currently ranked No. 5 in the world, is the sixth Top-10 player to join the Travelers Championship field. He has won at least one PGA Tour event in 12 consecutive seasons, the longest active streak on the tour. His first PGA Tour victory came at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in 2008, while his most recent victory was at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship in 2019. Johnson, who was named PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2016, won three tournaments that year including the U.S. Open—his first major championship. He has 20 Tour victories and 17 Top-10 finishes in major tournaments. The 6-4 Johnson, who was born in Columbia SC and currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, will be making his fourth start at TPC River Highlands. In 2013, Johnson became engaged to model Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. The couple has two sons.

Johnson and Day join a bevy of Top-10 players already committed to the Travelers, including No. 1-ranked Rory McIlroy, No. 3 Brooks Koepka, No. 4 Justin Thomas, and Patrick Reed and Patrick Cantlay, who are tied for No. 7.
“I’m very excited to welcome Dustin and Jason back to the Travelers Championship and for our fans who will be watching from home,” Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Travelers, said. “Our player field this year will be one of the strongest on the PGA Tour.” The Travelers field currently posts 10 of the top 16 ranked players in the world.
The 2020 Travelers Championship can be seen June 25–28 on Golf Channel (Thursday–Sunday) and CBS (Saturday and Sunday). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PGA TOUR has announced that the tournament will be a television-only event, with no fans allowed at TPC River Highlands.
