New England Black Wolves Fan Fest offers fans "up close a nd personal
lacrosse instruction and an autograph session among the festivities. |
UNCASVILLE, Conn.
– The New England Black Wolves will host a “Fan Fest” at the Mohegan Sun on
Saturday, Dec. 17. The event is designed to kick off the 2017 National Lacrosse
League season.
Fan Fest kicks off at 4:30 p.m.
with a special ceremony unveiling of the league’s
new logo, which relects of the sport’s rich history. NLL commissioner Nick
Sakiewicz will be on hand for the unveiling, as will other league dignitaries.
The unveiling will occur in front of the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office. Following
the announcement, the entire Black Wolves roster will be on hand on the Mohegan
Sun Arena Shops Concourse for an autograph session. All fans are welcome to
attend.
Doors to Mohegan Sun Arena will
open at 6:30 p.m. for the main event. Once inside, a special “basics of
box lacrosse” presentation will be offered by Black Wolves head coach Glenn
Clark and assistants Jim Veltman and Tracey Kelusky from 7-7:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m., the Black Wolves will
take part in an “interactive practice” in which Clark will be seated in the
stands answering questions from the fans while the players work out on the
floor. In addition, several players will be mic-ed up for the event adding to
its interactivity.
Throughout the evening, fans
will also have the opportunity to meet the Black Wolves mascot, Hunter, as well
as members of The Howlers dance team and enjoy face painting and caricatures on
the arena concourse. Admission is free to the public who bring a canned
food item benefiting the New London Community Meal Center.
The
Black Wolves, East Division Finalists in 2016, will kick off the 2017 season in
Rochester on Jan. 7 and will open the home season on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. vs. Buffalo.
Season tickets, mini plans and holiday packs are currently on sale. Tickets
