UNCASVILLE– The Connecticut Sun announced on
Monday that veteran Kayla Pedersen has been waved. The 6-4 forward had not yet
reported to Sun training camp because has been playing with Lucca, which
recently captured the Italian League Serie A championship in four games over
Familia Schio.

acquired for a second-round pick in a trade with the Tulsa Shock in 2013,
Pedersen, a Stanford grad, appeared in 89 games for the Sun. She did not play
in the WNBA last season. The Shock relocated to Texas in 2015 and became the Dallas Wings.
Even without
Pedersen, the Sun have 15 players in training camp and must cut their roster
down to 12 by Friday. The season opener will be on Saturday night, May 13
against the Atlanta Dream. MyPillow will be the presenting sponsor of Opening
Night, and every fan attending the game will receive a commemorative T-shirt, courtesy of MyPillow.
