“Beer Fest at
the Connecticut Open will be a great way to end an exciting week of women’s
professional tennis and support the tournament’s mission to benefit community
and support women’s causes,” said tournament director Anne Worcester. “We
have always been proud of the week-long festival atmosphere we create to
showcase the world-class women’s tennis players who compete in our tournament.
Our partnership with the Connecticut Brewers Guild will ensure that the beer
festival will be a first-class finale.”
Beer Fest at
the Connecticut Open will take place from noon until 4p.m. at the practice
courts in the upper plaza. Tickets are available at beerfests.com
(http://bit.ly/CTBeerFest)
and include unlimited 4 oz. samples, access to the food trucks and live
entertainment on the grounds, and a general admission ticket to middle-tier
seating for the singles and doubles finals.
“The CT
Brewers Guild is excited to partner with the Connecticut Open this year to
further promote the interests of the fledgling craft beer scene in Connecticut
on a national and international scale,” added CT Brewers Guild executive
director Phil Pappas. “As of March 2018, the Connecticut beer scene boasts more
than 68 operational breweries, with many more in planning. The goal of this
Guild is to further protect and promote our local breweries, move forward on
Guild Member initiatives that foster profitability, and increase public
awareness of all in-state breweries and legislative actions that impact the
community.”
Ticket prices
are $40 for beer drinkers ($50 on site on the day of the event) and $25 for
designated drivers. There is also a $25 “Beer Garden extra” ticket for
fans who have already purchased a ticket to the Connecticut Open finals
(Session 12) and want to attend the beer festival.
