Rangers Call Up Two From Wolf Pack

Former UConn star Cole Schneider is returning to
Connecticut with the Hartford Wolf Pack.
 
HARTFORD—On Monday it was announced that the New York Rangers have assigned forwards Cole Schneider and Steven Fogarty to the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers’ American Hockey League affiliate. Schneider has appeared in 25 games with the Wolf Pack this season, in which he scored eight goals and nine assists for 17 points to go along with four penalty minutes.

Schneider, a left winger, is a former UConn star who skated with the Huskies in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns, and has tallied at least one point in 15 of his games this season. The 28-year-old Williamsille, N.Y., native leads the ’Pack in goals and power play goals (four), is tied for second in points, ranks third in shots on goal (48), and is tied for fourth in assists.

Fogarty, a 25-year-old center, has appeared in 10 games with the Rangers this season, has skated in 19 games with Hartford. Drafted in the third round (No. 72 overall) by the Rangers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the Chambersbrg, Va., native has registered (seven goals and seven assists) as well as 16 penalty minutes for the Wolf Pack. At the time of his recall, Fogarty was tied for the team lead in goals, ranked second in points and power play goals (three), and was tied for fourth on the team in shots on goal with 38.
