Yale will host a pair of Capital District teams this weekend at Ingalls: nion (Fri.) and RPI (Sat.). Both begin at 7 p.m. |
Yale: The
Bulldogs are coming off a split of last week’s non-league action, including a
2-1 overtime victory at Vermont and a 7-0 loss to Harvard at Madison Square Garden.
Sophomore forward Curtis Hall, who leads the team with eight goals, tied the
UVM game late and then won it in the extra session. The Elis put 32
shots on the Crimson net while hitting the pipe twice. Senior goalie Corbin
Kaczperski had the decisions in both games.
Union: The
Dutchmen bring a 6-15-2 (4-7-1 ECAC) record into Friday’s game after earning a
3-3 OT tie at home with Cornell last Saturday. Union, which fell to Yale 2-0
earlier this season, is 1-2-1 in the new year after scoring five goals last
weekend. Union and Yale are knotted at 26-26-5 since the first game in 1991-92,
the year the Dutchmen replaced Army in ECAC Hockey.
RPI: The
Engineers, who head to Brown on Friday after beating Colgate last Saturday at
Troy, are 9-11-1 (6-6-1 ECAC) this season with wins in three of the last four
outings. Yale won the previous meeting at Houston Field House 4-1. The Bulldogs
and Engineers first played in 1908-09, and RPI has a 56-48-6 lead.
