Jeffrey Osborne Charity Classic in Norwich This Sunday



NORWICH – The Connecticut Tigers will host the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Softball Classic this Sunday, Aug. 6, at Dodd Stadium. Four-time Grammy Award winner Jeffrey Osborne will head a team of all-stars for a charity softball game beginning at 12 noon Scheduled to appear include: former Celtics superstar Paul Pierce, James Worthy of the Los Angeles Lakers, Doc Rivers, John Starks and Rick Barry. Also on board are NFL Hall of Famers Eric Dickerson and Andre Reed, baseball's Ozzie Smith, Dave Stewart, the infamous Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd and former Patriots Steve Grogan, Ty Law, Joe Andruzzi, Jermaine Wiggins and Roland James, among.

On the entertainment side, Motown legend Smokey Robinson, Chris Tucker, Cedric The Entertainer and country music superstar Johnny Gill are also scheduled to appear.

Gates at The Dodd will open at 11 a.m., and tickets are $14 for premium box seats, $12 for reserved box seats, and $10 for grandstand seats. There will be a $2 discount for members of the military, and $1 off for senior citizens and kids 12 and under. There will also be a VIP pregame BBQ ticket option, which includes 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat BBQ, as well as an on-field experience with the opportunity for pictures and autographs, for $40.

Tickets are on sale now and are available online by clicking HERE, by phone at 860-887-7962, or at the Dodd Stadium box office Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Following the celebrity softball game, the Tigers will entertain the Staten Island Yankees at 4:05 p.m. There will be separate admissions for the two events.
