Yale Introduces 30 Newcomers to the Football Program


Yale announced 30 newcomers to the football program yesterday. The
Elis will embark on their 147th season in September, highlighted by the
136th meeting with Harvard. After dropping nine straight to the Crimson
from 2007-2015, the Elis have won two of the past three games against
Harvard in their historic rivalry.

NEW HAVEN—Yale University announced the newcomers to the football program for the 2019 season on Wednesday. The new crop of Bulldogs includes 30 student-athletes from 17 states around the country who competed scholastically at both public and private schools. The new Bulldogs include 16 on defense, 13 on offense and one place kicker/punter. There is also one transfer in this group who will play on the defensive line.

The defensive recruits include seven defensive backs and a trio of linebackers, while the offense has six linemen and one quarterback. The first-years report to campus with the returnees on Aug. 21 and will get on the field with equipment a few days later.

This will be the 147th season for the Bulldogs, who are led by eighth-year head coach Tony Remo.
