Sound Tigers To Hold Breast Cancer Awareness Night For Home Opener


BRIDGEPORT—The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced that Breast Cancer Awareness Night will be featured during the team’s home opener on Sat., Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. This will be the 19th home opener for the Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. Faceoff at the Webster Bank Arena will be at 7 p.m.

On opening night, the first 2,500 fans through the turnstiles will receive pink rally towels, and all cancer survivors will receive a free pink bandana. In addition, the Sound Tigers will sport specialty pink warm-up jerseys benefitting American Cancer Society, Seymour Pink and the Get In Touch Foundation that will be auctioned off during the game. 

Also on tap for the home opener:

  • Pink Bandana - Any Cancer survivors attending the game this night will receive a special Pink Bandana courtesy of All Electric Construction & Communication.  The bandanas will be available at the Fan Appreciation table outside section 119.
  • Big Y Kids Zone - Added family fun will be provided in the Kids Zone on the outdoor plaza, presented by Big Y.
  • CHET Summer Reading - All students who participate in the CHET summer reading program will receive a free ticket to the game. Click here for details
  • Sound Tigers 5K Run or Walk - All paid participants in the Sound Tigers 5K Run or Walk on October 6th will receive a ticket to Opening Night.  If you would like to participate in the 2019 Sound Tigers Run or Walk, click here for details.  Proceeds from the 5K will benefit The American Cancer Society, Seymour Pink & The Get In Touch Foundation.
  • Beverage Special - For every Pink Lemonade sold during the game, $1.00 will go back to local Cancer charities.
