BRIDGEPORT—In an effort to add depth as they gear up for the postseason, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers have added to players to the roster this week. On Thursday the team announced that Robert “Bobo” Carpenter has agreed to terms on an amateur tryout (ATO) agreement. The 22-year-old signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the New York Islanders, the Sound Tigers’ parent team.

The North Reading, Mass., native played four years at Boston University and served as team captain this past season. Carpenter finished his college career with 102 points (56 goals, 46 assists) and a plus-20 rating in 144 games. The 5-11, 200-lb., forward served as an alternate captain during his junior campaign and led the Terriers with a career-high 20 goals and 35 points in 2017-18. Carpenter helped Boston University win the 2018 Hockey East Championship and was selected to the Hockey East Second All-Star Team.

Prior to joining the Terriers, Carpenter played parts of two seasons of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Sioux City Musketeers. He led the team with 35 goals and ranked third on the Musketeers with 63 points in 60 games during the 2014-15 season. Carpenter had 72 points (40 goals, 32 assists) in 69 career USHL games.

Today, the team announced that Oliver Wahlstrom has agreed to terms on an ATO. He signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Islanders yesterday.

Today the team added former BC star Oliver Wahlstrom.
Wahlstrom, a 6-1, 207 lb. forward, played this past season at Boston College, scoring 19 points (8 goals and 11 assists) in 36 games. He scored 45 points (22 goals and 23 helpers) in 26 games, ranking second on the team in both goals and points, while leading the USHL with a +30 rating.
Internationally, Wahlstrom played on Team USA at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. He scored four points (two goals and two assists) in seven games, helping Team USA capture a silver medal.
