Sun Announce Announce 2019 Roster

UNCASVILLE—The Connecticut Sun finalized its roster today today as the team prepares to open their 17th season in the Nutmeg State when they host the Washington Mystics on Saturday evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.

Nine members of the 2018 team made the final roster, including Rachel Banham, Jasmine Thomas, Courtney Williams, Layshia Clarendon, Alyssa Thomas, Morgan Tuck, Jonquel Jones, Shekinna Stricklen and Brionna Jones.

Newcomers to the team are rookie guard/forward Bridget Carlton and forward/center Kristine Anigwe. Bria Holmes, a New Haven native who missed the 2018 Sun season due to pregnancy, will also be suiting up for the Sun this season. Holmes last played for the Atlanta Dream in 2017. In two seasons with the Dream, the 6-1, 170-lb. guard averaged 7.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
