STORRS—Forward Evelyn Adebayo will be
joining the UConn women’s basketball team for the 2019-20 season as a graduate
transfer it was announced today. Adebayo played at Murray State this past
season, and was named First Team All-OVC and All-Newcomer. The London, England
native set the Murray State single-season record with 19 double-doubles, and led
the Racers with 18.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-1 forward spent her first two seasons at
Gardner-Webb, and was a member of the Great Britain team in the 2015 U20
European Championships. Adebayo is one of three newcomers for the Huskies next
season, joining freshmen Aubrey Griffin and Ania Makurat.
